Areas of focus

Emma Maconick leads the Data and Technology law team at EY Law and is responsible for law and strategy related to technology transactions, data, privacy and cybersecurity for New Zealand and Australia.

Emma brings over 20 years of experience with solving bleeding-edge legal problems for a broad range of clients and stakeholders in Oceania, the USA, the UK and Europe in technology and data-intensive sectors.

Emma’s work includes advising the biggest consumer and e-commerce platform operators, hyper-growth companies, FinTech's and financial institutions, data platforms and products, cloud and edge computing operators, “everything as a service” businesses, consumer goods manufacturers, as well as developers, users and policy makers on everything from data and analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, quantum technologies, advanced virtual and augmented reality to autonomous mobility, EVs, IoT, and drones through to AgTech, pharmaceuticals, biotechs and healthcare providers.
